might be buying a new car

i have £1500 max

wanted a 1.5 td but may be tempted towards something else

want decent milage and not too old
cheaper to insure than a 1.4 sport and cheaper to run (diesel)

any ideas?

1.2 Corsa?

1.1 Peugeot 106, 1.1 Saxo, 1.2 Clio, 1.2 Punto, 1.25 Fiesta or 1.0 Micra.

I don't see any difference between my 1.1 106, 1.1 Saxo, 1.4 C3 or 1.4 Corsa in terms of fuel to be honest. I've used my Mum's 2.0 HDi 307 a bit and that seems to drink more than the Corsa.
