for a few weeks my car has made a beep after it starts/as it starts
this happened about a year ago and just stopped happening
however now the alarm it going off just after starting car.
the alarm did seem to go off when this mystery beep did not happen
It went off all last night apparently - had a note left on the car.
The car starts fine so its not the immobiliser.
just called vauxhall
they said could come in but not available till next thursday (and would cost me Ł50 in a diagnosis charge!) - cant have the alarm going off for that long
they told me a few things i could try - pressing the buttons when car is in start position 1 (engine not on but lights/radio etc on) and it will beep - tried this and no beep. (This is to re-sync it).
the other thing was to change the battery which cant do easily - how do i do it?
the other thing was to close car just using key - did that last night and the alarm went off
just done that now and it seems ok - for now. however had to try a few times
ahhh!!

thanks for the reply
i am not thinking its not the battery because it is able to cancel the alarm when it goes off all on its own.
i will need to take it to the garage I think but they wont have an appointment for a while
i may need to just pull out the fuse for the alarm so its stops going off and causing a disturbance.
does anyone know how to do this?

you wont need a appointment for a battery change and as for the fuse, i would say have a look in the 'Haynes' manual, unless its noted on teh fuse box which is down by the drivers side.
