This was never going to be a 30 minute fix. We have a large amount of data and there's no easy 'make it quicker' button.

Yeah no worries on the comment, it has rather turned from a five minute little tweak in to a complete restructure of the database. Hope is both Marc, whole site won't bog if the queries are optimised plus if we're re-writing we'll alter some of the functionality as well.
