Im 99.999999999% sure the H/G has gone on my x14xe.Symptoms are mayo on oil cap, coolant smelling like petrol, waterfall behind the dash as well as no hot air from the heaters and its losing coolant. Also when accelerating it tends to smoke white smoke like a bitch.

If i keep the coolant topped up and dont let it run dry will it be ok to drive for 2 days or not.Looking at about 60 miles total??

Hmmm little bigger than i thought it would come out!

so does the temp guage show the temp of the coolant and/or engine, and as long as that stays 90 to 92 then it should be ok?Or will the engine be hotter than the temp guage?

Sounds daft but my head gasket was sorted with some radweld type stuff.

It was loosing coolant and you could hear the water sloshing round behind the dash. I thought i'd try it as a temp fix and that was a couple of months ago and its still going strong!
