Posting on behalf of Baza31 (cant get to a comp)
Where do i stand claiming off the goverment for my alloys? i was doing 30 mph near my house on the main road and bang , my front offside alloy went down a pot hole. i come out of the house with a torch and my wheel is split and a massive buckle . These wheels are the VERY RARE masitaly vt7s which you cant buy anymore. its also wrecked my toyo proxie too.
So basically i am a full set of wheels down and a tyre
please someone tell me ill be ok as i am fucking raging
whats the limits i.e how deep etc?
thanks in advance

I know someone who wrote his r33 gts-t skyline off because of a pothole, went into the pothote and came out of it and it had put a crease in the roof
He claimed off his insurance then then his insurance sorted it all out for him,not sure over the outcomeof it all but seen him recently driving a r33 gtr so must of been alright

I managed to claim off them, basically you need to get a compensation form from the council office, supply photographic evedence of the pothole & damage it caused, give them a quote to repair the damage (Quote from local wheel place will do fine) It took about 9 months for me to get a payout, I was claiming for a tyre only (bust sidewall), nice chap at the wheel place beefed the quote up to £100 - they offered £75 because it was part worn tyre not new & I accepted....that was it!!
I think you will have a hell of a battle trying to get a full set of wheels out of them though but good luck

Cheers Lads
Anyone know the law on how deep the pothole needs to be to make a claim?

I dont think theres any 'law' as such on depth or size but if you can prove it has caused damage then you stand to make a claim.
Oh also phone the roads dept & report it, I think I remember something about they can try to shake it off if they are not aware of it!! Something I remember someone else saying....not on my claim!!

sounds good. my wheel is worse than that.
due to these alloys been so rare you simply cant get hold of them i cant just buy one alloy , i personally think the alloy cant be fixed . But i cant see them paying me out for a full set? its also shagged my toyo proxie
