goin to attempt to do this tomorrow following the above guide. Few questions though.
I have rust under the window seal, how do i get rid of this?
What is a dremel?
and what holds the wee piece of mesh in?
And is the idea once the handle and that is off to put the mesh on and then pack the filler ontop of it?
And do i need to take the boot off for this?
Thanks

dremel is an electric tool which has lots of diffeent ends, like a dentists tool to grind down teeth.

My advice is to not do it that way. The best way to do it is by welding a plate in.
Sand the rust off with wet and dry, then go over it with some rust eater before etch primer and normal primer.
The mesh is held in with the filler.
The boot can stay on.

You can just sand te rust off. You don't need a Dremel.

how much roughly do you reckon a garage would charge to weld a plate in?

Good luck with this, and let us know how it ends up.
How much do you think it would cost a garage to do it all ?

I was going to do mine over xmas week, but had to repair my bumper and fit a new wing instead, i was going to weld in a plate, thin layer of fibreglass and then filler.

Welded plate and filler would be sifficient... Don't really need fibreglass unless you need to get a lot of shape.

buy a dremel, i have 3 i use them that much
weld a plate or it will crack
fibreglass over the welds before you use filler to give it more strength across the welds and allowing less filler to be used
