Author Reset ECU?

I've now drilled my airbox....finally. Is there any need to reset the ECU now as a result of that? I'm guessing I should really but thought I'd ask to be sure.

sorry to jump in to tread but is it true if you turn your ignition off and on 25 times it re sets your ECU??

as my e/m came on i tried this and its never came back on since

probably more like blow all the fuses and melt your starter motor!

He means just the ignition, not starting it up 25 times

cant be good for the electrical system to be fair,on and off like youve got parkinson disease!!

yes that what i meant ignition on and off 25 times and it did work

Prolly blown the bulb

Thanks for the info, was just curious as to whether or not I should.

Resetting the ECU just involves disconnecting the battery for an hour as far as I know.

mmm nope cause it comes on when you just turn the ignition on mate!in any corsa

and as far as i no it does work + worth asking some one that knows about electrics i would say before all these lol

it is infact true that on later ecu's if you turn the ignition on and off 30 times that it resest the ecu fault code memory

My dad had to do something similar to that with his Ford Transit remote central locking as the battery had died.

take off negative lead for 60 secs
