im refering more so to the things your actual tought and the way your tought them tbh, not the night life.
i went to uni to learn skills that will help me find a career, seems all im doing at the moment is going to lectures getting read a 15 min powerpoint presentation and then told to learn the stuff my self from a book, i really dont see why this costs me £3000 a year.
not to mention the fact i keep getting put into groups with idiots who have no clue so i end up doing all the work and they share the same grade.
and dont even get me started on this stupid topic we have to do "pde" utter shite, how is an essay on "emotional intelligence" supposed to benfit me in n e way shape or form.
waste of fucking time, however, i guess its a meens to an end.

teaching bursery, pfft, don't get me started -
do a YEAR long pgce, get 6k to train 3k initially, 3k on completion
Do a graduate teaching programme (from a term to 4 terms) - get 6k to train, 3k initially , 3k on completion.
Do a 4/3 year BA and teaching qualification and get naff all.
Actually, no thats wrong, you get 12k of debt and crappy temp work that'll never pay that debt off in any reasonable time frame.
Rant over!!

As we're on the subject of students loans how long does it take to receive your first payment when you apply for one?
I start college on the 8th Jan but i need to sort out my evidence to prove who i am etc. I doubt i'll get it when i start college...

This annoys me about uni.
You are doing a business and law degree.

Perhaps when you've done the essay it will all become clear.

I think theres alot of confusion nowadays about what Universities are supposed to do. Afai always believed, they weren't places where you went to learn a skill to get a job. The only way you can learn to do most jobs is by actively participating and learning from others who do the job themselves. The government has forced Universities to modify their courses to make graduates more employble, after pushing at youths to stay on in education in order to cover up the shrinking labour market in the country. I always thought Universities were places designed to create free thinking intellectual individuals who would eventually provide the greater population with scientific improvement, a better understanding of ourselves etc etc. for the benefit of our society. It worries me to think that people are studying at university so they can become a manager in Asda, or so they can start their own buisness. People have been doing these jobs without the aid of "degrees" for decades.

To be honest i agree im in my final year doin law and business and over the past three years law has become EVERYONES proffession and i dont want to become a claims solicitor so that leaves me two options going into business and doing management orrr saving up 20k to do an mba. Uni is shit cos of the amount it costs i dont mind the bursaries as i have a mate who gets one ad everyone should be entitled to education. More often than not the piece of paper you recieve after you graduate enables you to earn a higher starting wage in theory however a recent study claimed that university students could earn onli 100k more than those who neer went compared to a study carried out 3 years ago by the government that claimed that the difference was 400k when they were raising tution fees. total bull shit i believe links below

you shouldnt need to pay it back till you earn over 16k a year.
I got nowt for going to uni, a 1k loan was my lot. my rents earn too much. This annoys me soooo much, they might earn that but it doesnt mean they are going to give me any. I want to go back but cant afford to.
Then theres the single parents they get given everything on a plate GRR.
