What are your guys opinions on the vectra 2.0dti's.

Am thinking about getting one because i need something which is cheap to run, and is reasonably comfortable etc...

New shape or old shape? They are'nt that bad, not particularly quick but not painfully slow either. Generally quite reliable, timing chain so no need to worry about belt replacement.

engines bullet proof as long as check oil weekly.

Yeah thats a good shout, they use a fair bit of oil.

can be reliable if looked after, fuel pumps common to going down, expensive too!

vacum systems are the most common fault

good engines, can do high mileage

not really fast, if you want fast then you want a common rail

1.9cdti are shit hot, but the daddy 3.0 v6 cdti is summing else! the noise is just fantastic for a diesel! huge turbo aswell!

yeah nice runners for what they are, the do about 55mpg which is good, vectra suspension bushes go all the time, and check to see if any fuel pump work has been done, as they do go. other than that i enjoy driving mine, alright its not a rocket but it isnt bad.
