i had my old astra for 2 years and washed it every week with fairy liquid. never made one bit of difference to the paint. some say its too harsh, but it was cheaper and the car was worth £9

I stand corrected.... I meant Wax not Laquer
Just found this on the web...
Your Cars Bodywork Will Benifit From A Good Car Wash Technique...
...it will add value to your car!
"Just what is the best
Car wash technique for the body
work on your car?"
When you're washing the car, do you like a lovely big bucket, overflowing with suds, helped along with a good healthy squirt of Fairy washing up liquid. It looks great and feels satisfying, does'nt it!
Unfortunatly, you've just stripped back all that hard work you accomplished when waxing your car.
I know, I know. Its a mortifying thing to have to find out.
Just think, all that expensive wax, not to mention the superhuman effort taken to apply it and work it into that mirror shine - you've just ... removed it all!
