the removing of the tank is easy, once you have carried out the complete cunt of a job that is undoing the clips that hold the pipes on

Ash, how difficult is the petrol tank to change ? As i have a slight dent in mine since my coming together with a brick, so was thinking about changing it in the summer.
Unless it's leaking, really don't bother.

I find it easy to pop them off, it's getting the fuckers back on that's the trouble.

It looks worse than it really is, most of that is just surface rust. A lot of the ridges are just underseal peeling back.
the real problem is like with mine, is that as mr muppet said the drain holes block and they rot from the inside to the out... i took the under seal off to the floor pan and couldnt find any suitable metal to weld to

Our front cross member looked like that.
Until the grommet fell through, dropped the radiator onto a bolt, and then blew the head gasket!
Oh the joys of running an old car.
