personally i wouldnt do more than a few mm.
any more than about 4/5mm imo isnt safe

Well the et on the wheels is 38 atm and need it increasing to 45

personally i wouldnt machine any alloy that far.
remember that youre taking metal away from the surface, effectively weakening the internal strength of the wheel
many on here will probably just poo poo my opinion and say to do it. but if it was my choice i wouldnt

it depends on the wheels.....some wheels are made this way from the factory.
you need to look how much material there is between the nut taper and face

if a wheel is made in et0 for example and then machined to et2 to et50 then sold, what harm is there in making an et38 to et45? no difference from what the factory would have sold

but there is limits......ie most tsw's will never be greater than et40, due to the shite alloy......as it will lose integrity.

He has redilled both mine and Boyracer2002 wheels....
