I had mine with a filter over it, and it did make town (low speed) driving alot smoother. Thats really the only thing i noticed about it to be honest!

Introduces turbulence in to the mixture, which supposedly makes the fuel burn better.

I had one on my x14xe and it DID make a difference got about 50 extra miles to a full tank, didnt do anything performance wise and if its making a noises it not set up corretly.

your meant to adjust them til it makes the noise then turn it just enough so the noise stops
they go in teh vacuum hose from servo to block and is meant to introduce turbulence in the system
they are no better than fuel magnets

the science of how an engine works means that one of these wont make the slightest bit of difference.
might as well put a split in one of your vaccuum hoses as thats basicly what these do, create an air leak. the claim about introducing 'turbulance' is rubbish as between the valve and the inlet theres about 2 foot of piping for the air to travel before the point of combustion.
IMO anyone that fits one is also running the risk of increasing their chances of brake failiure as they are cutting their brake servo vaccum lines. bad idea if you are an amateur bodger.
