Right-e-o......... got infinity reference 6.5" comps on the front, run off a kenwood amp 2x100w rms (and the speakers are 100w rms each),
problem is, is they rattle and buzz and make various bits of the door shake (window guide rails and most of the window mechanism i think.... which rattles when i go over bumps as well lol)
soooooooo.... should i:
a) take them out, stick them in some boxes in the boot, and replace them with just some normal 13.5cm un-amped speakers (probs leave tweeters up front as well)
b) make a door build... which may (probably won't) stop the rattles, and sound as good as if they were in boxes?
i don't listen to much bassy music so not too bothered about them only being 6.5" each, got some much smaller speakers in my house and they can still whop plenty of bass out
and.... where the fook can i get 2x 6.5" sub boxes? no one does them.... which leads me onto next question, how easy are sub boxes to make, bearing in mind i'm not a carpenter... but fairly handy (at times lol) - best materials to use?

Myself i'd leave them up the front and make some door builds for them
If you wanted to put them in the back which I wouldnt recommend, boxes wouldnt be hard to make from MDF allthough you wouldnt want it to be a fully sealed box.

why not just buy some sound matting (skinz, dynamat etc) and stick that between the speaker mounts and the door panel.
that should illiminate some of the vibrations.

just as a note for the door matting, as proof it works.
my passengers door has been rattling like shite for since i got my new speakers fitted (made em sound terrible) and now i've put the sound matting in around and behind the mounting brakcet, the difference is quite surprising. no rattles at all now, even at ott volume. was well worth the money.

I have my doors sound deadened and it makes so much difference. I had it done on bith the outer skin and the inner skin.

My JL's sound great in the doors. So i wouldnt bother putting them in the boot in boxes.

hmmm, posted a reply yesterday but doesn't show.
i've got leccy windows and think they speakers are touching the bits the windows come down in, but don't prevent them from closing (although they do need pushing about 1/2 way down, but think they did this before speakers went in, like a lot of corsas)
my door rattles a fair bit (like going over bumps), various parts of the window mechanism i think rattling i think.
ok........ so what should i do, sound matting and leave it........ or make door builds. (or buy them cos i'm lazy lmao)
probably need to upgrade the speaker wire as well at some point, took a couple of shortcuts when fitting them and the amp lol
