how much inc labour and any other parts and if i rang AA would this class as a breakdown?? cos ive got a certain policy type which i can use if its a breakdown to payu for repairs??

get the car a few miles up the road, ring them, tell them it's broken, but DONT SAY WHY, then you're sorted.

ok will do, oh its a x14xe, i pay AA 25 quid excess they pay anything up to 500 quid for repairs

Damn thats alot, my HG went 6 months ago in my Rover 214, Cost me £60 Parts/labour @ mates garage plus £40 to get it skimmed
Although it would only have been £250-£280 at a few other local garages.

apparently the 16v smallblock vauxhall engines are a pain in the arse to get the head off so usually costs more

and you need to replace all the timing gear on them aswell

not necessarily. Depends how long the kit has been on there for. Probably another way for the garage to get money out of you.

headgaskets £25. skim £21 should buy new headbolts then borrow a torque wrench and uve got it sorted for less than £50. just take a bit of time when you do it

i didnt do the whole kit only the belt as the kit was only done 100 miles before

i got the astra running, put a new rad in because the old 1 had a huge hole in it, now pisses out so much smoke its unbeleivable, need to get the hg sorted
