somehow managed to get the mfd to display fault codes,

how is this done?

really? I never thought the MFD was connected to the diagnostic circuit, its not in the wiring diagrams anyway

well this one is playing up.

its got a dodgy connection, so while twatting it to get it to come on it came up in the centre f then random numbers about 3 or 4 of them then went off again

you can get the standard mfd to display speed in kph is you hold the 2 butons in

i know that

stu reconised the numbers that flashed up as the fault codes stored cos he did a test a while back, cos the egr is blanked and one of the codes was that

Im gonna await people replying saying i hit my mfd to try and get it to display a fault code but i smashed it to bits

adam it did it on my gsi too

is just the diag mode on the MFD, hold both the buttons for a few seconds, will display codes begining with F then continue the diag...

it will show different codes though depending if the radio is on or off, its not really showing management codes though...

when pushing in both buttons on my mfd it comes up with F 12, then after a second comes up with F 95 and then after another second it comes up with my speed in mph but it says kmph

tried this yesterday... only displays speeds till '+53kmph' and only for a few seconds. how acurate is it? had a huge difference compared to the speedo
