If a horse breaks it's legs then it gets shot.

Only race horses as they are useless after that other than for sticking envelopes down.
Alot of normal horses can break legs and be kept alive!

Ed, sounds a little harsh tbh, if your legs got broken would you get shot?
I'm on my way round with a baseball bat and a shotgun!

That horse is getting up, check the patch of flat sand next to it.
They only get shot if its a bad break, which during racing a lot are.

It's very difficult to heal a horses broken leg. They have been bred to have long thin legs to be agile. If they snap the only way to heal them is to suspend the horse in a cradle type thing for a few weeks until it has healed. £££££££££££££££.
