Mate of mine has just binner her ford KA at.......15MPH!!! into the back of another car. How can it be written off at that speed?!?!, i've hit another car at 30 in my old corsa and all it did was brake the numberplate! What damage could you do at that speed?? cos theres minimal body damage, bent crash panal? Bust rad? I really dont understand how this can be a write off!
Sorry bout tht, it just rly annoyed me.

could be 2 wings, bonnet, crash panel, headlights, slam panel, rad, pas pump, aircon pump (if it has one)
that's easily £800-900 in parts, from ford parts desk, plus paint, plus labour

same damage on a corsa would result in the same verdict.

Or any other car of the same value for that matter.
its the labour that usually kills them

Someone at 30mph just broke your number plate? I'm sorry but I don't believe that, unless that car was also moving at the time in the same direction which in effect wouldnt equate to a 30mph hit.

it's easy to do my missus ran into the rear of someone at 10 - 15 mph he had a towbar and caused £300 worth of damage it needed front panel, rad, bumper, grille and a new reg plate so in a KA thats made of tin it would be easy to write off
