well a astra is deifnatley in the runnind though the sahpe is looking a bit old now, where as the corsa c still looks fairly upto date.
how much would a 1.8 sri cost me roughly on at least a 03 plate

You'd have to check on autotrader but I don't think an 03 sri will be too far out your budget now.

yeah get an astra thats what i want next im thinkin of an astra mk 4 sxi 1.6 or a 1.8 sport depending on insurance

if your getting a non turbo mk4_astra then get the 2.2 engine, from what ive read nearly everyone who's driven one recommends one over the 1.8 and it gets good comments about its extra grunt and how well it goes past 60 mph.
if you want something faster then your going to have to be willing to spend more on your insurance and get something like an accord type r for your money
