I work at my local ASDA store part time. The other day a customer comlpained that something was in the bananas and look what we found...

Now i'm not a spider person but once captured it appeared dead, then woke up and started jumping within the box and attempted to spin a web, anyone know what type of spider it is??? I presume it isn't from this country! Was quite shocked tbh

Brazilian Wandering Spiders are extremely fast, extremely venomous, and extremely aggressive. These large and dangerous true spiders are ranked among the most venomous spiders known to man.

In South America, these true spiders are commonly encountered in peoples' homes, supposedly hiding in peoples' shoes, hats, and other clothes. The Brazilian Wandering Spider does not remain on a web, rather, it wanders the forest floor, hence the name. The Brazilian Wandering Spider has another distinguished common name - the Banana Spider.

Not one to cause panic but many a dangerous/venomous creature has been found in shipments of food/produce. Even in the UK

no!! spider even a common house spider is "harmless"

They're all venomous; okay some may have milder venom than others but they're all venomous and how "harmful" they are very much depends on who/how/when they bite an indivdual and that individual's reaction to the venom
