Sorry about the poor pics, the flash on my phone has broken since it got soaked with sea water I'll get one more daylight pic tomorrow. Ive never done tiling before so was also a good learning experience, didnt do too bad a job

Had to remove the rest of the wood block flooring that was there before, was stuck down really well and took ages of brute force to get it all up

Floor ready to tile

Half way there

and how it is now...

I ran out of adhesive with two tiles left to do, but its not the end of the world cos thats where it joins the kitchen which i am also gonna do the same over xmas when i fit the new kitchen, so its only gonna be like that for a few weeks. Just got to do the grouting now and clean up the adhesive off the tiles, then job done. Need to get a nice big plant in the corner too to finish it off, slowly coming together though

About ten hours I think, but I could definately do it quicker next time now I know what im doing. I was using the washing up bowl to mix the adhesive so spent ages cleaning it properly between mixes so i didnt ruin it, woulda saved loads of time if i just bought another bowl

Good work Matt get them cleaned up then get some slate sealer on them, will make them nice and shiny (if you want that finish) and will also make them easier to clean, i prefer the look of stone tiles when sealed as they look a lot more expensive and professional.

Nah its not too bed, we have an upside down house so the dining room is upstairs, we got insulation between the floors but they still get heated a bit

Started doing the grouting today, what a shitty time consuming job! Got bored after about 2 hours and given up for the night

looks good; like the tile itself - would have looked a bit better had you staggered the joins though (overlapped them) but thats just IMO
nice work nonetheless
