Was out on the piss last night & managed to fall over & hurt my ankle.
After 4 hours in A&E this morning, I was told I have torn a ligament & have to hop about on crutches for some time.

How long does it normally take to get back up & walking again following this injury? I'm totally gutted that I can't go out on my crosser tomorrow, and really want to get out on it again soon.

I was on a crutch for a good few weeks afterwards, with 3 months of physio...

I literally turned my ankle 90-degrees over, though......it kind of hurt!

yeh i tore my ligemnts twice in my right foot, and once in my left, hurts a hell of a lot more than just breaking your ankle.
takes a fair few weeks befor you can put real pressure back on it.

Good tip : lots of hot baths, works real well

It's preferable to break your ankle, to be honest, because a break will heal fully (normally). A torn ligament knots together, and is never fully healed...

I still get the odd twinge now, and mine was done 7-8 years ago.

I tore all the ligements that hold my collar bone to my shoulder. I was told that I should have my arm in a sling for 2 weeks. I carried on with my skiing 3 days after being told that. I guess that might be different though because it wont ever heal.

I did it before and i was in that much pain i could hardly walk to my dads jeep to go to the hospital. All i got at the hospital were pain killers which i didnt take as i dont like drugs of any sort. I fell down the step at my house today and the pain came back really badly.
