i own a vauxhall corsa trip, year 1997, petrol, which is having problems coping with damp and rainy conditions.
after a particularly wet night it will start, but only after three to five attempts.
if driven in these conditions without warming up, it will jerk violently, especially in first and third and fifth gear.
the worst scenario is driving inn extremely heavy rain ie: roads with puddles the size of lakes, in these conditions if the car gets extremely wet due to said puddles it cannot cope with steep hills, loses power and stalls.
i have taken it to several mechanics all of which have been unable to get to the root of the problem. maybe i didnt decribe the symptoms precisely enough, or maybe its a condtion that needs to be experienced first hand ?
Very Happy
any help would be greatly appreciated
thanks

odd one. i presume this is the 1.2 8v engine? if it is, check the dis cap for any excess corrosion, check all leads and plugs. are you getting any flashing lights on the dash at any time? could be a sensor playing up...
only other thing i can think of is a dodgy connection between the alternator and batt.
