There is too many possible solar systems, planets, stars etc... for us to be the only one with forms of life. Even our own solar system could have undiscovered intelligent life. Our own system is big enough for it to take many life times to map/explore. It seems uncomprehensible to imagine the number of planets able to sustain/provide life.

As humans we like to tidy up odds and ends and have explanations for things we do not understand. Space and the universe could be the most difficult thing to grasp on our place or purpose etc... If you think of space as a vast area then at the end there is a solid wall all the way around, what is on the other side of the wall?, Where does it end?.

look at the amount of coincidences that occured to create life as we know it. when you consider that then it makes it harder to believe there is other life out there. i still believe it though.

With an estimated 100 billion galaxies (I've not counted and taken from various websites). I'm willing to bet the chances are pretty high.

Venus.

I do believe that there is life out there and doubt very much that interaction will ever take place between planets. Man will not be around long enough to develop the technology involved.

Mind you Independance Day was a shocker.

i said the creation of life as we know it. not the creation of earth. i'm talking about things that can be proven such as the earth being hit by a meteor that created the ice age etc.
