If I keep car think I may look into getting one..

Benefits?
Prices? seen reasonable prices on the bay..

Ease of fitment? I know will have to cut bumper etc but what about fitting it etc..

Tell me all you knowledgeable ppl

Benefits - Will allow your turbo to boost longer without dropping as quickly, You'll see much lower intake temps, LOOKS LOL.

Costs - normally £500 - £1000, depends on size, core etc... Or you could fit one from another car to save money,

not rocket science but unless you are buying stuff that is already made it may be a bit of trial and error. don't know nething about volvo's!!

It's just the fitting thats worrying me No experience of doing it...think I would need some help..

Fitted low down in front of radiator? Will need to get somebody to plumb it in as it were for me too....

You need to find out how to fit, i just needed 2 90 degree elbows and some adapted bits dont know what yo will need

simple enough mate.. just trial and error really. Also depends what boost your running.. if your running around 6-8 psi then a big massive intercooler will cause a bit of lag so dont go overkill. but it will make a huge difference...

means you can safely up the boost in line with fuelling without the panic of rising intake temps

Standard boost is about 1 bar 13 psi...

bah, 1 bar is 14.5 psi isnt it??????

as said above, there is a lot of confusion with some people that opt to purchase the biggest intercooler they could get, whish often results in power drops and increased lag.

something that has a power rating, maybe 300ish bhp should do you well. fitting it, just remove the bumper, fitt it at the front, can get 90degree bends off ebay for cheap enough. basically, the more of it that is exposed to air, the more effective it will be.

Basically it'll lower intake temp's, meanign more boost safely, lower EGT's etc.

BUT i would really bother unless you are planning some nice power from the t4, or higher than std boost!?

Don't think I really need it at moment Adam..Was just something on my mind as bored with Car a bit and wanted to do something..Not got the funds the moment for remap so was thinking doing the FMIC as prices are quite reasonable from that site posted...

Nic I always thought 1 bar was approx 13psi

If I keep car hopefully get remapped in future and with oither mods should see 250bhp...

As said not a 'need one' but quite 'fancy one' thats all.....

I think I should worry also about where the 25bhp has gone that I lost on the rollers on Saturday

Going back on Falklands rollers this saturday and hopefully see whats what.

running on two diff RR's isnt the best start to fault finding :/

Was your boost correct?
Was the fueling spot on?

1 bar is 14.75 or 14.5 something psi

Thing with FMIC's not for specific cars you'll have to spend a bit to make up mounts, pipes etc. Not to mention potentially having to cut crash bars etc to make them fit

On the punto GT i had to alter the rad mount a touch (hammer and grinder ) but most mods were to the back of the bumper.

The R33 was a bit more interesting. Had to chop a large section of the front crash bar out, and the mid section of the bumper.

If you are just doing it for looks i'd maybe reconsider esp if you are bored of the car, and unsure if you want to keep it. If you are bored a FMIC isnt going to make it interesting for long

According to RR operator boost was holding fine and car felt 'ok' not flat spots etc..

Feels ok on the road,and hold at about 12psi, It doesn't feel like it is 25 bhp down.. I know what you mean about 2 different RR roads but I know Kevin and he will give it a few runs for me then some pointers etc..And it's 2mins from my house.

Boost leak from DV??? would not show on Boost guage was one thing...See what happens on Saturday then if nothing else take DV off and see what happens..

I know may be a pain to fit...... Think I will have to keep car till next summer more than likely so....Might not inspire me having FMIC fitted but keeps me from getting bored...Will look into sizes then into what will need cut etc to fit one and go from there I think....

Unless you plan on doing serious mods I wouldn't bother. A fmic isn't a performance mod as such.
