Looking for some general Info on Auto Corsa's, they seem quite rare but i know they do a 1.4 8v auto.

Anything to look out for etc?

Thanks in advance for any info

Corsa autos come in 1. 4 8v from 94> 1.4 16v 96 onwards and 1.2 16v what the the later car 97/98 onwards

most merit and ls models will be 8v

steer clear of the late easytronic semiauto boxes there utter carp

what to look out for.

check the auto fluid if its black, burnt or got bits int leave it were it sits. The fluid should be clean and not have much smell to it

if it smells like ransid fat leave it alone.take the car out for a test drive it should change up nice an smooth and not notchy also test the sports mode (button on top of the gear stick) make sure the kickdown works by flooring the gas

park the car up and do a bit of reversing then drive the car by manualy shifting the gears. If you get a flashing "S" on the dash the gearbox goes into limp home mode as there a fault with the gearbox the normal cause for this is the selector switch whats around £200 to replace plus labour
