Was on duty today at a road closure and a woman pulls up
"what's the bloody road closed for?"
Me "Rememberance day parade"
At which point she had a strop.
Me "That's alright love they only died for you"

I was discussing this with the missus earlier.
Rightly (or wrongly) i really can't remember any 11/11 days before the 90's.
Perhaps its been re established post the first gulf war?

Some of it is people being uneducated. However some of it is people being downright disrespectful!

just read that..
most disapointing really. you would think people in this country would have a little more respect than that.
it makes me a little sad
thousands of people gave their lives for this country and this is the thanks they get years down the line....

It is very sad, I can see how some young people would maybe associate that war with the joke of the war that is happening now, obvioulsy only through ignorance, that spray painting s a fucking joke though, sick as fuck

People living in fear of being singled out, removed from society and put to death? It started out with the Jews/gypsies etc, but if it had run its course, once they'd been eradicated who would he have turned to then?
The man was a lunatic, albeit one with the motivation and ability to manipulate a nation into war by playing on everyone's inbuilt sense of prejudice.
It would have been different, yes. But better? I'm not convinced.
