I have done similar to the exact same finger, was in the nets at junior school (nets beeing a wall with 2 markers at either side, someone kicked the ball when my hand was behind it smashing it against the wall.

carl, that looks nasty 
i spoke to the specialist today, his words were "your finger is doomed" he said with or without the op i still wont have full mobility in my finger. but worth a go as it cant get worse, also there's a piece of bone that needs removing, and hopefully it will relieve the pain. so i say goodbye to the left ring finger i took for granted for 19 years 
i go under the knife tomorrow morning. please think of me at this time

I went in goals playing 5's and saved a shot and it broke my bone above my thumb.pushed it right back.Still sticks out now..Was only a few years back...Sort of hit end of my thumb and pushed the bone back the one from top knuckle to bone at wrist...Was agony.
8 weeks off work and 4 weeks in plaster..

thats me atm, had op on my hand on saturday, 2 broken bones in hand, one was broken so bad they had to put a 2mm metal wire through it.
