I have just set up my parents new 40" Sony Bravia LCD Tv and we are running Sky Digital as usual through the scart.

The only problem is when i try to use the Tv guide it changes the channel to channel number 6 instead of showing a TV guide.

Anybody know whta the prob might be?

The sony turn to channel 6 code is the same as the sky tv guide code?

what is shown on channel 6 when you press the Guide button? black screen or static? Do you see the Listings briefly before it changes it?

can you not use the Sony remote to navigate back to the sky input when you switch sky on? If the TV channel is changing then as John said it sounds like there's a clash with the codes.

Mine doesn't do it though

What model is the TV mate? I'll take a look over on the AV Forums for you.

can you get to the sky menu at all?

i.e, switch on TV, switch on Sky. TV should jump to sky input (providing you're using the bottom scart socket).

Does this work?

pretty sure it tells you how to do it in the Sky manual. The code for Sony TVs is at the top of the chart one of the pages

Oooh this is the TV on my shortlist. Full 1920x1080 resolution etc.

Need to go and play with one in a shop though to see if it'll do the PC display with 1:1 pixel mapping.

Would be interested to hear what you think of it with an HD source
