elises and vx220s have jacking points in the middle of the car iirc, so it shouldnt have been on a 2 post ramp in the first place.
you can only do a side at a time.

So it only had one support either side of the car rather than 2 so when the tyre place took one of the wheels off the rear became heavier and it tipped up. bit like a see-saw?

no, they probably lifted it on the sills, which are plastic, and they seem to have cracked.

a car had fell off a ramp at a place my dad worked at, it was a brand new saab 9000, some one was working under it, as they walked over to their toolbox the ramp failed and the car fell off, and smashed all the passenger side up and was written off
