Slightly random topic I know, but how many of you do permanent nightjobs? like 10pm - 6am or whatever? do you enjoy it? can you see it as a long term thing or just temporary, and does it put a strain on like; living a normal life. seeing as you sleep most of the day?

I work nights in asda.
Was a novelty at 1st but unless everybody you associate with does nights, or you can get by on very little sleep it begins to take its toll.
Especially at this time of year.
Go to work at 10 its dark, finish at 6, its dark.
Go home to get some sleep, if you sleep in any later than 3 its dark.
Might be different if it was my permanent full time job but my experiences so far have made me want a nice monday to friday 9-5 type thing.

I only work nights on a monthly basis, ie 4 weeks days, 1 week nights etc - but the time i am on nights, is horrible. You hardly get to see anyone, when your gf/family are just settling down to watch some evening telly - you're off to work, you get home and noone is awake - you wakeup and everyone is at work. Its shit, I hate it - but it pays good (for me)
Oh, and the only person on CS you'll have to talk to is Mav, and he fucks off at 2am cos' his boss let him go

I work night shifts. Do 7 nights every 5 weeks. 5 in one week and 2 on another. Shift is 730pm-730am. Money and shifted time off makes it worthwhile. The social side of things doesn't bother me. I've been doing it for 5yrs now.
So, Mav isn't the only CS person you can talk to.

You crazy mofo! I try to get as much sleep as possible between shifts. Generally between 6-7hrs if i can. Once i finish nights i'll sleep for about 3-4 hours and try to get back into a normal sleeping pattern asap. In fact i'm just finishing nights now and i'm not back in work until next Wednesday night. Can't argue with that!!!

I work midnight till 8am, the only issue I have is I have to work through the weekend, 3 in 4 weeks and take 2 days off in the week, so going out with my mates is a non starter, id say if you can do mon to fri its better than working days
