Right i'm with Brentacre, proper happy with the service and everything, top notch, anyway got my renewal form through, £469 quid with 3 years no claims, all mods declared etc. I'm happy with that, might have a phone round but its a pain in the arse when you have to start listing all the mods which is another point i have regarding mine.
Anyway the excess is 450 quid which i'm slightly worried about, the fact being i own an old 306 so has little market value to anyone, and also one where mods count for jack shit. So say i have an accident and have to pay 450 excess and they value my car at 800 quid, what would the point in that be? do i stippulate an agreed value when i renew or something?
Also my has quite a long list of mods, but the vast majority are peugeot bits where i have upgraded them (front bumper, wheels, spoiler, rearlights, leather interior), Since they are commonly found on other 306's would i not be able to have a normal policy with a few additions ie not a modded car policy?! Or would that be stretching the trueth a bit and riding my luck.

Also if i take the renewal quote, is there a good way i can chip them down a bit first? reckon they might have a bit of negotiation over the excess maybe?

Going to phone brentacre next week but thought i'd ask for some advice on here first if anyone can help.

Can't you just say the Peugeots bits are optional extras?

If you excess is reduced your yearly premium will go up accordingly.

A lot of insurance companies say in the small print that in using them your car is completely standard, not even optional extras like a genuine factory fitted CD player etc.

I'd ring and ask - say you've been quoted cheaper elsewhere and they could reduce your premium.

going to try endsleigh, tried ecar but the wanted over a grand.
i would'nt mind paying more and having less excess, might ask them about doing that.
Mike, i declared everything as it was no extra with it being modified so thought it safer.
