Anyone got any idea what certain tax codes are?

Im on 503L/1 but i have no idea what it is? Is it emergancy tax or just normal

taxable income is what you earn per annum minus £5030.

yes if you add a 9 to the figure quoted on your tax code thats the amount you can earn tax free in your salary

If you have company cars etc your tax code reduced ie you pay more tax etc
