thanks rob. ill look at that later.
on another note, I understand a VAT return is done on a 3 month period but:
does the 3 months start from when you are first registered?
or do the Inland revenue have set dates through the year for VAT returns for everyone?

Sage is also very good, and pretty simple.
Confirm this with your accountant but i think you do a part return for x number of weeks, until your into a true VAT period and then start from there, if you understand me?

I use Pegasus Capital Gold at work, also qualified to use Sage. For what your doing i'd have a look at capital gold, very simple and generates everything fairly easy for you.

Sage was the one I couldn't remember the name of.
I only mentioned Opera because I used to deal with it, and it came into my head.

We use Sage at home, seems to do the job as my dad uses it for his other businesses.

VT Transaction is the simpliest and best software available on the market IMO Only £150 too
Has won loads of awards and is starting to take a big share of the market.
If you need an accountant then give me a shout

Also dont use Sage, it is far too expensive and too complicated for the majority of the users to understand.
We get Sage users at work who effectively double there bill as they have cocked it up so much

It depends when you register and what the effective date of registration is really.
Just opening some mail this morning with the registration details for a client and the first return is almost a 6 month period.
