hi all, new to the forum and also new to corsa's...
Basically the car will bog out when it hits 4,800- 4,900 rpm...???
does anyone know what could be causing this problem and how much it would cost to fix (myself)?
also is it common for the sump to leak oil on a corsa?
Cheers jonesy

The sump leak is quite common on most of the older Vauxhalls I've ever seen.
Not in the know enough to resolve the flatspot but I'm sure another enthusiast with more experience can help you out there

to be honest the flat spot you are experiencing is the same in most corsas.I assume its a 1.4 though and mine did this. You could look at getting a 4-1 branch manifold or a performance inlet but thats all i thinkyou will be able to do for not too much money.

Limiter?
Read this thread about limiters. According to the thread, most engines are limited to 6000rpm...also, the rev counter isn't THAT accurate so it may be misleading you.

My car used to Bog down in 3rd and 4th, turned out to be the EGR (exhaust gas release) valve being blocked.

Been looking at the corsa today and found this..

could these which isnt connected be causing the car not to rev over 4,800rpm???
its coming up behind the inlet and is a 2-pin plug.
(havent got a manual yet)

Looks similar to the crank sensor but don;t make sense since it wouldn't start without it connected...at least I don't think so....
