and thinks its utter shit and a total rip off lol.

not talking about the night life thats a different kettle of fish i just meen the educational aspect, im getting taught less stuff than i did at college and of exactly the same stuff, and every one i mention this to says "its uni you have to do most of the studying and learning by yourself" well why the fuck do i have to pay 3 grand a year to go to lectures and be told to read up on the subject my self from the books which cost me £200 odd.

And it cost me £70 for a parking pass which doesnt guarantee you a parking space utter shite lol, suppose its a meens to an end.

Uni is a bit of a rip off.
More education for the sake of passing exams, although slightly better than school.

yeah the new financing system takes the piss a bit i pay £3000 yet my friend whos dad owns a farm and pays everything for him gets all his tuition fee's paid for and a £1400 bursary when i only get a £500 one.

Makes no sense big fucking rip off, but then the whole country is heading that way if your middle class.

my sister is studying at Manchester University; fully paid though, she's on scholarship and scholarship from the Uni too. If she had to pay, it would have been £12k for a year then adding accomodation

You get a fancy piece of paper from uni though saying you managed to memorise enough to pass the exams, whether you know what you're doing or not.

not all degrees are exam based. Glad i did mine before these new fees kicked in, paying 3k a year would have put me off, especially since i get fuck all support due to living at home, My parents are tight so makes no odds what they earn.

Re: the college thing.

I asked myself the same question when I finished my ONC

The ONC gave me relief off the first year at uni...apparently 'A' level students would have gained as much knowledge as i did in two years of study and work experience in their first year.

It made me wonder back then...I laugh at it now

my uni is totally shit! i dunno what im paying for tbh!

they tell you nothing about exams, or even what the coursework is, your supposed to find out and read into it, didn't even know when i was starting back this year! got nothing through the post from uni

the lecturers cant' speak english at all, when we go in for the big lectures you cant' make out a word their saying, due to the lecturers accent or they speak to fast, most of the teachers are foriegn, i end up playing on my phone, loads of people fall asleep as well

if we have a problem on the computer say were following a tutorial work sheet, (yes a work sheet!) we call a lecturer over and they don't know what to do, so in the end they just walk off on the sly, never find out the problem, until they post up the solution a week later

all the units im doing are dull, covering things im never gong to need in my job, like im doing history of computing is one of my units next year WTF?

another example is the wireless networks unit im doing, we sit in front of microsoft excel putting in random numbers and code, that calculate something, not a clue what it is all about nothing is ever hands on, way to much theory

this morning we got told how to apply for a job! what is needed etc how many times have i done this since college,

at college they had more computers and better teaching then hear at uni

worst yet we have to do a PDE module that counts for 40 credits its basically a pile of wank but its meant to tell us how to get employed.

like doing a 4 min presentation on my self will some how help me get employed, id quit if i had something better to do.

And to think i bothered to work a bit in college and came out with all A's for this shite sigh.

I love uni at the mo, most my lecturers are english, or speak perfect english, we dont have to buy any books, lectureser and other staff are always readily available, resources are pretty good.

And its a vocational uni so I get to do a lot of hands on aspects of computing such as programming and networking.

do it via External Programme (if they offer it). Costs only £600 max per year for the same degree

but it more difficult because you sit for only 1 exam paper per subject
