That has to be one of the most stupid things I have heard.
You do not have a 6 figure bank account, if you did you wouldn't drive a corsa, no matter how much you liked them.
You also wouldn't be under the impression you can make money from a scammer.

The cheque will clear, thats the first part of the scam.
It'll then bounce, you'll be charged a fee. There is no question whatsoever of having the money unless you yourself set up a bank account in the name of the person the cheque is made out to but with no other record whatsoever of who you are, and withdraw the cash as soon as it does clear.
Then you'll have a bank after you for however much they are out of pocket. They will come after it.
