Thinking about building one of these for my new flat, anyone ever done this and is it worthwhile? Or should i just connect my laptop to the tv for the same thing?
Just looking for your thoughts and if anyone has a Home Theatre set up pics would be great.

I've just got my PC connected to the projector via HDMI and to my amp via coaxial digital. I also got a remote control with my sound card (Sound blaster Audigy 4) which I think can be used to contol the media side of things, although I havent set it up yet.
I guess it depends what you want it for, you could possibly get a dedicated media centre which would do the job? I put a post up in here about them a while ago, will look for the link now

Really not wanting to spend a hell of a lot of money on one, just somethng that I can play dvds on, record stuff to hard disk and f about on really. What about a 360? Can you not do the same sort of stuff with one of them?
