I used my car for work on Friday, I then took my Mum to the hairdressers and picked her up again. The car then didn't move until 8 last night when I went to the cinema. As soon as I went for the gear lever it was all loose, I have a Momo gear knob so assumed it had come loose, upon trying to tighten it up it just span When I got in to third gear it was vibrating and making buzzing noises, once in 4th it was ok. My mate had a quick look when I met him as hes a mechanic but not a lot we could do in WB car park! No matter what I tried it wouldn't tighten. As usual when I mentioned to my Dad when I got in I got the automatic reply of "sell it"
Same as Jambos post, what do you change to?
FFS more expense.

Put the factory one back on
But depends on your finacial situation really. And your emotional attacment to your car. But tbh if i had a loose gearnob i would just get it fixed

Bolt disconnected?
Think Gaz had this problem! One of the screws on the box was loose, he got his dad tighten it and was fine after that

I dont think its that difficult to do, stu replaced his centre console recently, my gearnob "buzzes" which is annoying as fuck, been told one of the bolts has a washer on it and its worn out
Could be something like that
