What's the deal with running in cars these days? Can you drive them hard straight from the off?

It had 56 miles on the clock when I got in and it got redlined a few times

you need a driving license, and a vauxhall dealer.

Ahh, so no limits on age/time licence held for/etc? I know some are really picky about them. Honda wouldnt let me 23 year old friend with 5 years no cliams drive the new civic

I didn't even show them my license and they didn't ask me my age either.

I just walked in and said is it possible to have a test drive in a new Corsa

You don't need to run in an engine anymore, you haven't had to for a long time. Though it will loosen up a bit after a few hundred miles. In fact, when the car is in the factory it will be bounced off the rev limiter in every gear on a rolling road to make sure it works alright.

that isnt true for vauxhalls im afraid.well didnt happen when we went ellesmere port with work. there is no run in process,all they did was drop front wheels of astras intto a roller facilitty for a few seconds and sttays att same rpm for bout 20seconds. tthen nextt car ettc etc

Yeah I was going to say when I went to the Dagenham plant years ago (for a Business Studies field trip) when they were building Fiestas and Mazdas there, they tested them on the rollers to 5k.

Used to really fancy a brand spanking new Zetec S back in the day
