ive got a brown wire that does the morse code diagnostics. this works fine but ive go to wire it into my diagnostic plug so i can get my car plugged in to sort out running problems. on smallblockxe.com it says put it to pin 6 but i dont have a wire in pin 6. any ideas

I dont see why that wire would be removed when u took out the 1.2?
Or is it still there and the 1.6 has a wire for it thats part of the engine loom of something?

easy, just put a switch between the 2 wires that you bridge when doing a diagnostic test. no more fiddling with bits of wire or paperclips

on the 1.6 there is a brown wire on the loom which is for the diagnostics. on smallblockxe the instructions on how to fit the engine says to put thisto diagnostic pin number 6 on the 1.2. however when i looked at my socket there wasnt a pin or wire going to number 6. i had a man come and plug his diagnostic equipment into the socket but he couldn't get into the system. so ive got to sort out the wiring so he can come back and do his bit.
