Lovely looking cars, not very well made.

We had a 156 (i know its slightly different, but still the same build quality) and trim bits don't feel solid.

Steering lock is not very good either, 3 point turns aren't ever 3 points

decent spec, lovely seats, fantastic looks, pretty reliable, its just the interior quality which is an issue.

Awful build quailty and electrics!

I worked at Alfa/Fiat for a year and they are awful cars!

If your lucky you'll get a good one with no probs but most of them have got their fair share

PS... keep an eye on oil EVERY few hundred miles!

at the fact that it was reliable?

the Vectra V6 broke more than the Alfa.

dont know about the 146 specifically, but i HATE the looks!!

A mates got a 166 which is horrid. Its nice inside, a great car to be stuck in traffic with, but for what it is it handles terribly, its slow for the engine size/power/fuel consumption

another mate had a 156 which was similar but better but then the engine let go and alfa wanten a zillion quid to replace it.

never seen the attraction to them tbh, some folk think theyre special, but theyre mass produced fwd cars with a dose of unreliability IMO
