Brand new DVD, 1/2 wasy through watching it & it starts skipping & stuttering. Took it out, cleaned it, put it back in. Doing the same now & saying "Unable to read disk"

Normally my PS2 is fine, can only guess that its the disk itself

It is a proper DVD player It plays DVD's


If it is the disk its not too much hassle swapping it but its a pain watching 1/2 a film

Try your PC DVD player? Pain in the arse, but mine is by far the best thing I own for paying DVD's

my mates PS2 used to do this all the time, with lots of discs, not just DVDs but games etc. it was definately the PS2 that was wrong
