Hello everyone, Jus thought id post up about these cars as im thinking about a winter project I've always liked these cars but never known a great deal about them.

So basically, Wots everyone's opinion on these and are there any things i shud look out for if i go to view one ?? Two diff engines too *Eco/None Eco ?

Thanks Rob, I'd be looking for the 2l 16v none eco then

Anything else ? I know there abit prone to rust around the rear arches ?

if i was buying one, i'd buy a late late one,with a C18XE. especially if i had plans for the engine

My mate had one, personally thought it was crap, handling the most awful aspect of the car, they look okay though, front bumper's cool

but presumably the plan is for a C20LET, or some TBs anyway, so it won't really matter much

i was inbetween a mk3 gsi and golf however i wanted a newer car so opted for golf. there are too many bad examples of the mk3 around make sure you check things in detail

Mr Marriot, the C18XE was in the EARLY GSi's and was actually a very capable unit, boasted 140bhp.
