any bodywork can be an earth, if theres not one near by, make one.
or are you thinking of the engine itself?

well same applies to a certain degree, most bolts can be earths, only ones a can specificly remember are the small one on the alternator bracket and i think there is one on the intake, kinda underneath it.
If in doubt take it to the car body, or put an extra earth strap from engine to car body and / or battery
do you have an earthing fault?

theres a couple round the throttle body area....
starter motor, know that 
battery obviously lol

Yeah well I at least want to check all the earths tommorow.
Getting strange fault codes coming up and a misifire and this is the next thing I want to try

Not sure if the probs your having would be a bad earth, but possible i suppose.
try it with a temp earth, use a jumping cable, clip one end to gear box bolt or something simular and other to car bodywork, see if it makes a difference

I'm getting fault codes saying specific sensors are both high and low voltage etc.
You think that sounds like an earthing problem ?
