I've recently started taking interest in hifi seperates again, and am wondering what's decent these days?

I don't have anything fancy myself, and am looking to possibly start upgrading it.

What do you guys have? - I need some inspiration

I currently have a Cambridge Audio A300 amp, and Cambridge Audio P500 power amp, running a pair of Eltax x-treme 400's, a Sony minidisc deck (MDS-520 or something), and currently play CD's through the DVD player having sold my good CD player some time ago.

I think the first step would be to buy a decent CD player, then upgrade the speakers... and so on..
