Has just put a deposit down on a really old Beetle.

Plans are to sort the bodywork, and any rust.
Have the shell resprayed.
Remove the bumpers.
New wheels.
Lower it like hell.

Then he wants to have a 911 engine transplanted or have it bored out to a 2000cc on carbs.

Is this a midlife crisis?

to look at, but i imagine a car designed in 1938 or whenever would be a bit gay to drive.
