Is this possible ?

I may be able to get hold of a corsa gsi with a dead engine and i have a 1.4 8v from an sri in the shed

How easy or hard are we talking ?

The mechanical side of it and getting it in aint a problem, the main thing i am thinking of is the wiring/electrical side

ye, wudnt bother just put a 1.6xe or redtop in, more fun that way!

dont expected it to be cheap to insure as it will be classed as an engine modified group 10 car they wont lower the insurance group

As for doing it dead easy, will be virtually plug and play!

Will cost more to insure than it would if it were a 1.6 and it will have a re-sale value of £0 so it's not really much of a saving.

Well the mountings driveshaft gearbox and linkage are all the same.

So that leaves two fuel pipes shock horror.
Some water pipes, use all the 1.4 ones
And the ecu and wiring, which on both sit in the footwell.

Hardly rocket science is it!

dead easy, i did mine in a day (other way round tho 1.2 8v to 16. 16v) just make sure youve got everything u need 1st
