I jacked my job 3 months ago & started college last week doing HNC Electric Engineering & NC Instrumentation.
10 months i'll be back out looking for a job
Im living on savings & student loan...no job as im pretty much full time at college, well 4 days a week.
Im supporting myself & paying a mortgage & still have my car & go out most weekends
Do it now Matt, your not getting any younger & you dont want to be selling mobile phones to bawbags all your days!!

Take you probably about 6 years if you wanted to go all the way through that but just AAT would see you around the £18k mark after a few years then use experience to build up your salary if you didn't want to study further!
I'm about to qualify fully and am set to hit £38k + car on the very day Will be 25 upon the day in question!
You must be doing well
How long have you been in accounts mate?
Just landed an Internship, I now its going to be donkey work but it'll help me while doing my ACCA

Cost of uni is large, not only in what debt you accumulate but also what money you lose by not working full time. If you include that you would easily get to £30k and over.
Teaching is good although for a lot of positions the job is more about discipline than delivery, and you'll spend the day telling people to shut up. No real satisfaction in that. The choices are basically primary, secondary and further education.
Primary is OK, you don't need really a specialism either as you will be teaching all subjects.
Secondary has the highest turnover of staff who decide they can't hack the abuse. You need a specialism for this, but the money can be good if you take on additional responsibility.
FE, which is where I am generally does better discipline-wise although its still not perfect. We also don't do as well so far as academic standards on intake as many people are resitting or returning to education after they didn't do so well at school.
Its also not a job which you can go home and forget about especially at this time of year, hence why I didn't reply earlier. I do all my own recruitment so interviews, some arrangement although I have help there, getting involved with induction sessions etc. Its not just teach your subject. There's also administrative work throughout the year and at the end.
I also agree with willay on the IT stuff, need to be a geek otherwise that will do your head in.
