Some info + pics (pics arent mine as none of the Red Bellies I had)

They can only be kept with other Red Bellies but expect a few fin nips and posisble fatalities if you dont keep up a regular feeding routine. Min number you should have together is 3 (2 would just fight until the other dies) and its suggested you should have around 20 US Gallons per fish once they reach adult size.
They will grow really quickly upto around 7-8" (within a year from an inch or so) and the red colour will fade slightly.
Dont expect them to be frenzied killers, it will take alot of time infront of the tank to stop them being scared of you and gettin them to eat when your about. They will eat live foods when bigger, but make sure they are proper feeder fish or pinkies (baby mice) as otherwise will cause more harm to them than good. The best food for them is prawns, white fish, mussels, or left over meats (cooked or raw).

If your thinking of getting some Piranha though Id try and get something a little different than Red Bellies. Some photos of different ones below...
Piraya - these are similar to red bellies that they can live in shoals. But these keep their bright yellow and orange colours when they are large, and also grow bigger than reds to about 14-18" (reds grow to about 12")

Ternetzi - exactly the same as Red but have a yellow colour. They normally grow larger heads than reds and look a little more aggressive.
